How We Connect With Our Community

Attending local events
Many amazing events take place in the State College community to promote sustainable food systems and student engagement, hosted by organizations such as the Student Farm at Penn State and the PSU Sustainability Institute. We encourage all of our members to show their support!

volunteering
We are committed to not just delivering food, but building meaningful relationships with groups and individuals in our community. We do this by participating in various events and engagements, such as serving warm dinner at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church’s weekly community dinner.

building partnerships
Sustainability is a group effort and requires a strong network of partner organizations to be successful. We are currently exploring various partnerships, such as with Student United Against Poverty’s new Basic Needs Hub and the UPUA Department of Sustainability.
We are always interested in exploring new partnerships with organizations, so please feel free to reach out!

Our Community
The FRN Penn State Chapter is proud to do our part in reducing food waste and food insecurity on and around campus, and in the State College area.
Our work benefits students, local residents, and community organizations through meaningful partnerships and engagement.
Our sustainable volunteer model ensures that our efforts are reliable, consistent, and beneficial to anyone involved.
We are just one part of a larger network, united by a common mission. Together, we can reduce food waste and end food insecurity in the United States.
